    Description

    ANTIQUE CARTE DE VISITE PHOTO ALBUM - LEATHER BOUND WITH ALL EDGES GILT - CIVIL WAR ERA - UNUSED?
    This handsome little photo album has wear to the leather covering, however, the interior appears unused. The 25 pages hold 50 photographs which are inserted by sliding each pair of photos, back to back, up into each page from the bottom opening.
    Measurements: 5-5/8 inches x 5 inches. 1-1/2 inches thick. "Window openings" for photos are 3-3/4 inches x 3 inches. (Photo 3)
    Condition: Marginal wear with scuffs and scrapes to the front, back and spine covers. (Photos 7, 8 & 9)
    The spine cover is split and detached along one edge. (Photo 10)
    Tears on the back of page 13 and front of page 14. (Photos 11 & 12)
    The bright gold gilding on all page edges is in very good condition. (Photos 2, 5 & 6)
    The designated areas for inscriptions under each photo opening have never been used. (Photo 4)
    A remarkable Civil War era survivor requiring a minimal amount of restoration.
