    Description

Offered here is a high-quality Civil War CDV of Lieutenant General U.S Grant.  This CDV bears a back mark of E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., 501 Broadway, New York, as well as a two-cent revenue stamp.  This is a well known photographic image of the general by Mathew Brady.  E. & H.T. Anthony & Company acquired and published Mr. Brady's negatives.
This is a wonderfully crisp photographic image from life and was not produced from an engraving.  It has a soft sepia background.
    PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
    :
Look carefully at the description and photos before bidding.  The best effort is made to accurately describe an item, but it can be near to impossible to describe all flaws or imperfections.  Also note that digital photography often exaggerates flaws or detects colors, hues and reflections that the naked eye does not readily see.
Please ask if you have any questions or concerns.  I want you to be completely informed and know exactly what you are bidding on.  Misunderstandings don't benefit either of us.
Payment is required within 5 days of the close of the auction.  After that time I reserve the right to cancel the transaction and re-list the item.  I dislike having to do that, so please pay promptly.
Shipping via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail with delivery confirmation.

    Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
You can return the item if you are not satisfied.  Never a hassle.  All I ask is that you please alert me first if you wish to make a return so we can coordinate it following proper eBay refund procedures.  The return shipping charge will be your responsibility unless there was an error in the listing that caused the item to be misrepresented.

Please note that the age spotting you see on the albumen print is enhanced by digital photography and is much less apparent when viewing the CDV with the naked eye.  The digital camera tends to pick up and magnify things that our eyes don't readily see or notice.
