GREAT CIVIL WAR ERA CDV OF NAMED SOLDIER WITH 72ND PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY - FIRE ZOUAVES -FAMED FOR GETTYSBURG DEFENSE AT ANGLE ON JULY 3RD HELPING REPULSE PICKETT'S CHARGE AND OTHER ACTIONS  - THE REIGIMENT WOULD SEE A LOT OF ACTION DURING THE WAR - THE CDV MEASURES 3 5/8" TALL BY 2 3/8" ACROSS - SHOWS STANDING SOLDIER BY STUDIO CHAIR - SHORT JACKET AND VEST WITH LIGHTER BLUE PANTS - MARKED ON THE BACK LEWIS  72ND PA - RESEARCH SHOWS A DIAVID LEWIS IN COMPANY H - ENTERED SERVICE IN AUG OF 1861 - LATER RECORDS SHOW HIS FATE UNKNOWN - MISSING  ANOTHER LEWIS APPEARS AS JOHN LEWIS IN THE 72ND ENTERING SERVICE MAR 1864 AND TRANFERED TO 183 PENN RGT IN AUG 64 WHEN THE REGIMENT WAS MUSTERED OUT OF SERVICE - THE IMAGE IS CLEAR AND DETAILED - SOME OLD SURFACE DIRT OR LIGHT STAINS - VERY INTERESTING - VERY APPEALING PIECE OF HISTORY FROM THIS WELL KNOWN FIGHTING UNIT RECUITED FROM FIREFIGHTERS  - GREAT COLLECTIBLE
